Mini-retreats

I have been more mindful of my psychological energy over the last few days.  Emotionally I have been a bit up and down but I think I have been generally more positive – I even caught myself singing quietly to myself at one point yesterday.

I recently remembered something I read off a blog months and months ago about spending 10 minutes doing something you love to do before you start your day so I have been reading blogs on positivity and optimism over breakfast.   This 10 minute mini-retreat has helped me set my positive intentions for the day ahead.

Other things I could do in this 10 minutes are meditate or zentangle as I am on a computer all day at work and probably should limit my screen time.

This got me thinking that it is easier to stay positive when you have something to look forward to, so it seems to make sense to plan in some psychological mood boosters during each day as well as first thing.  Planning these could form my 10 minute morning mini retreat.

I like routine but factoring in somethings to look forward to each day should stop routine from turning into a rut/negative energy cycle.
